How to use: Group Study Room・Seminar Room

(1) About the rooms’ usage

The rooms can be used by any group containing a student, professor or staff of the university to act as a representative during booking. The rooms can be used for the purpose of research, collaboration, studying, etc. (Groups must be 3 or more people)
The rooms may be used on any days the library is open. The times of use are as follows:

  • During semester (weekdays): 9:00-20:00
  • During semester (weekends and holidays): 9:00-16:00
  • During breaks (weekdays): 9:00-16:00

The capacity of each room is as follows:

(2) How to reserve and use

Method to reserve

  • The representative of the group must make a reservation at the library counter in advance.
  • Reservations can be made starting from one month in advance, up until 30 minutes before closing on the day of use.
  • It is possible to reserve the rooms for use during class time.
  • In order to make a reservation, the representative of the group should fill out and submit the form provided at the counter.

Method for use

  • Before the room can be used, the representative must provide proof of identity. For example, a student ID card if they are a student and a library card if they are a staff member. Then, the representative will be given the key to the room they have reserved.
  • The time for each reservation is up to 120 minutes.
  • If there are no other reservations for the room, it is possible to extend the reservation time. The representative should go the counter to request an extension before the end of the original time.

(3) Rules for usage

  • Please leave the door unlocked while in use.
  • Please follow the reservation time closely.
  • If the group does not arrive within 20 minutes of the start of the reservation, it will be cancelled.
  • Please do not disturb others. Please refrain from disruptive behaviors such as clapping, talking loudly, etc.
  • Please treat all equipment with respect and return it to its original state before leaving.
  • Please be sure to lock the door when leaving.
  • In the event of damage to the room or equipment, the group representative may be held financially responsible for any required repairs or replacements.
